What should signal parents and young people to access mental health supports?

High school years present particular challenges for young people who may need mental health supports. This is especially true as kids approach 18, when they enter new territory for parental input and intervention around healthcare. We welcome featured guest Marta Wilson, LMFT, from PrairieCare in Woodbury.

Marta Wilson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a variety of clinical and other life experiences. She works in PrairieCare’s Adult IOP in Woodbury, providing group and individual therapy and helps coordinate the family program, also. She has expertise in the areas of Eating Disorders, Couples Counseling and has worked with adolescents, as well as adults. Marta previously worked with athletes, dancers, creative professionals, schools and as an employee assistance professional. She has utilized alternate modalities in therapy, such as restorative yoga, movement therapy, visualization to reduce anxiety and art therapy, with a client centered approach.
