TUES 3/28 at 6:30pm | Giving Secondary Thought: A Community MakerSpace
Do parents and educators give sufficient thought to what GT learners face on their journey through secondary?
Time doesn’t slow down as students reach the secondary classroom. Projects, deadlines, extra-curriculars, social life, course requirements, and testing new interests or ideas. How do you find the formula for learning and growth in grades 6 – 12?
Now add GT into the mix. Perfectionism. Underachievement. Trouble finding challenge and engagement… or people who relate. Masking ability to gain social acceptance. Making sense of pathways, AP, CIS, PSEO, and IB. Considering gap years vs. early college enrollment. All while school and career landscapes are shifting.
